Frequently asked questions
How does laser varicose vein treatment work?
Endovenous laser coagulation (EVLT) is a minimally invasive procedure under local anesthesia. A laser fiber is inserted through a puncture to seal the affected vein. Duration: 40–60 minutes. The patient goes home the same day.
Is hospitalization required?
No. All procedures (EVLT, sclerotherapy, venous duplex scan) are outpatient. After the procedure, you need to wear compression stockings and come for a follow-up in one week.
How do I know if I have varicose veins?
Main symptoms: visible veins on legs, swelling by end of day, heaviness and fatigue in legs, nighttime cramps. Even without visible veins, deep vein varicosis is possible; a duplex scan will reveal it.
What is sclerotherapy?
It is an injection-based treatment: a sclerosant (special medication) is injected into the vein to seal its walls. Suitable for small veins and spider veins. Painless, no incisions, no anesthesia.
